Overview of Casting Process

Casting is a process of injecting molten metal into a mold and cooling it to form it. The core is to achieve complex structure molding through sand molds, ceramic shells or metal molds. Relying on precision mold design, CNC machining centers and vacuum melting equipment, the company supports sand casting (low-cost thick-walled parts), precision casting (near-net-shape high-precision parts), die casting (thin-wall batch parts) and other processes, combined with three-coordinate measuring machines and ISO certification systems to ensure dimensional accuracy and material properties.

Mold Design and Preparation

Use CAD/CAM software to design 3D mold models, and use five-axis CNC machining centers to precisely process sand molds, ceramic shells or metal molds to ensure that the cavity size accuracy reaches ±0.1mm, which is suitable for sand casting (low cost), precision casting (near net shape) and die casting (thin-walled parts).
Metal Smelting and Composition Control

Use vacuum induction melting furnace (VIM) or arc furnace to melt metal, and use spectrometer to monitor composition (such as carbon and chromium content) in real time to ensure that material properties meet ASTM/GB standards, and support multi-material processing such as steel, aluminum alloy, and titanium alloy.
Pouring and Molding Control

Use automatic pouring system to inject molten metal into the mold, and optimize the fluidity of molten metal through temperature sensor (±2℃ accuracy) and pressure control system (die casting pressure 15-200MPa), avoid pores and shrinkage defects, and realize one-time molding of complex structures.
Cooling and Demoulding

Control the cooling rate according to the material characteristics (such as rapid cooling of aluminum alloy and slow cooling of titanium alloy), and safely demould by vibration demoulding machine or hydraulic device to avoid deformation or surface damage of castings.
Post-processing and Quality Inspection

Perform heat treatment (solid solution, aging), surface treatment (phosphating, spraying) and CNC finishing (tolerance ±0.05mm), fully inspect the dimensions by three-coordinate measuring machine, and combine the ISO 9001/16949 system to ensure product reliability, and finally deliver high-strength, corrosion-resistant customized castings.

Lost Wax Casting

Process characteristics: the cavity is made by wax mold, and the wax material is melted out after casting, which is consistent with the investment casting technology path.

Advantages: complex hollow structures (such as pipe joints) can be cast without parting surface restrictions.
Die Casting

Process: High pressure is used to inject molten metal into metal mold, suitable for thin-walled parts (such as aluminum alloy wheels).

Advantages: good surface finish (Ra0.8-3.2μm), stable size, but easy to produce pores, high cost.
Investment Casting

Process: Same as precision casting, near-net shape is achieved through wax mold-ceramic shell process, suitable for jewelry and precision instruments.

Advantages: High tolerance accuracy, material utilization rate of 95%, but low production efficiency.
Precision Casting

Process: Make ceramic shell through wax mold, melt the wax mold and cast metal, suitable for high-precision complex parts (such as aircraft engine blades).

Advantages: High dimensional accuracy, smooth surface, can cast high melting point metals such as titanium, but the cost is relatively high.
Sand Casting

Process: Use sand mold casting, divided into resin sand mold and metal mold, suitable for thick-walled parts (such as engine cylinder block).

Advantages: Low mold cost, but low surface finish, requiring subsequent processing.
